2 week quarantine

so yes my title is a little bit of clickbate haha i am not in quarantine, all is well up here in WA

i'm sure y'all have heard that the first 2 US deaths from corona virus were in Kirkland WA aaaand SURPRISE they were in a hospital right down the street from where i live. the firestation that is quarentined is 3 minutes away so to say the least, these past few days have been very exciting here in kirkland. we were tracting on saturday and the first door told us that the first person in the US died from corona, the second door told us it was in the north seattle area, and then the next door barely opened up to talk to us and said that someone had just died in the hospital next door and from that point forward we have just been getting more and more crazy info from anyone and everyone hahaha. apparently Costco closed yesterday because they SOLD OUT of almost everything. hand sanitizer and rubbing alcohol are not available anywhere around here and are being sold for up to $70 on amazon. i feel like i'm in a postapocolyptic movie because people are just losing it so pray for me and that i don't contract the virus because according to everyone else, we are all just marinating in it in the kirkland area haha

anyways, as for mission updates all is well!! the work continues!

small plates:

-our cute little friend miguel is still on date to be baptized this month on the 21st and is just thriving. he keeps every single commitment we give and is just loving it all. we taught him the word of wisdom and he was like "oh yeah that makes sense. i like coffee, but i'm gonna drop it immediately because i want to follow what god has commanded" and has kept to his word. he even fasted with us yesterday even though he went on a trip to the mountains with his work buddies :.) like where did this miracle come from?? quien sabe. we love him to death and absolutely love teaching him and literally seeing the physical change happening in his life... this is what the gospel is all about

-put a family ON DATE TO BE BAPTIZED!! MARCH 21!!! technically they are not our friends because they are being taught by the elders and go to the english ward with their family, but they don't speak any english so we have kind of taken over teaching them, but they are darling and are just loving the gospel so much. we have taught them a few times and always have such spiritual experiences and we love love love them. so many miracles

-taught another portuguese lesson and was miraculously able to understand again... i think god knows we need some help if we are gonna baptize enough brazilians to start a group or branch here because they won't send portuguese missionaries here so he's giving us extra help with the gift of tongues. watch me be fluent in portuguese and spanish when i'm back 😎

-had a cool experience with some dude that we talked to in his garage. he was telling us that he doesn't believe in god because there's no proof and so i started explaining that we can't see proof of god looking forward, but instead if we look backward we can see bastante evidencia that he is there. it's always cool when you can literally see this message begin to make sense and sound familiar to people because this dude literally started tilting his head and nodding. we kept talking and i shared a few more points that just helped him open up more and more and he finally accepted a pamphlet and it was a really really cool experience. this dude just went from a 1 to a 4.7 if i do say so myself (GO TEAM)

large plates:

-ate soup with Miguel while he showed us pictures of his 2 little girls that are still in mexico that are so stinking cute

-one of our old potentials called us and was hardcore flirtin and invited us to a lakeside getaway with him and his buddy hahahaha love that

-watched some mexicans play basketball which is HIGHLY entertaining. they're all crazy good at soccer, but basketball is a whole other story because no one is tall and they all just like to fight and throw the ball as hard as they can at the basket... this is what i live for

-met a french bulldog named nimbus

I hope you've all had the opportunity to listen to President Nelson's invitation that the church posted to "Hear Him" and that you've given thought to what that means to you... i would love to invite you to ponder that if you havent already and begin to apply the things you learn to your life in preparation for conference and to truly take those steps closer to your savior so that you may hear his voice more clearly.

I love you aaaaaaaall sorry if I dont respond to your emaaaaails I've just gotten to that point in the mission where I'm too tired hahaha

THE CHURCH IS TRUE THE BOOK IS BLUE!

con amor,
