hide yo kids hide yo wife

woo wee what a weird (but good) week! the virus continues to plague Kirkland but the work moves on. supposedly there were like 50 more cases confirmed here, but that might be false news because all of the updates we get are secondhand lol. pray for Kirkland as well as Ruby Gobert

small plates:

-drove out to Duvall which is a solid 40 min away to visit some people, but nobody was home. we were walking down the street when a car pulled up in a drive way down the road and was just blasting Spanish rap so as a joke, hermana Mather was like "how about that dude let's go talk to him" but then hermana Powell was like "okay you said it let's go talk to him" soooo we sprint down the road to talk to Ivan haha. he's new in the states and doesnt speak a lot of English, but he let us right in and we ended up teaching the whole restoration to him and his mom and they really liked everything and accepted a book of mormon and set up a return appt... like whaaaaaaaa miraaaacles!! crazy how even when all your plans fall through, there is always a reason to be someplace

-went out to visit a referral and just happened to sit in the car for the perfect amount of time because right as we were deciding what to do, a guy named Fernando pulls up right behind us. he is the nephew of this referral and let us right in and we had a really really good contact with him teaching the restoration and a little bit about the church and he was definitely down to have us come back again and teach him more. he also accepted a book of mormon and was very intrigued soooo miraaaacles p2!!

-taught our friend Salomon the word of wisdom and he accepted it without any problema. he just loves to do whatever is gonna make the Lord happy. that's always a miracle when that happens

-had another teeny tiny sacrament meeting in the house of our bishop with the other sisters and their recent convert and it was another very cool Sunday. I'm just so grateful for the sacrament and the priesthood and the fact that we are still able to receive the blessings from both when the world is loco

large plates:

-ya girl got a phat cavity/baby root canal soooo I spent a good chunk of Tuesday morning at the dentist getting all fixed up. AND i didnt even cry when they gave me the shots aaaaand I didnt even have laughing gas, which is a first for both hahaha

-the best part about being in a trio is the fact that you can take naps while your other 2 companions continue to do work hahah. my blessed companions had to deal with a hour long call from a crazy investigator as well as plan out lessons while I knocked out during dinner time this week lol

-some white couple with a French bulldog let us in to chat while we played with their dog. big time win

-had a beautiful lesson on the beach with our recent convert Andrés while sipping hot chocolate with blankets watching the sunset

-went shopping this morning for 2 HOURS. the store was a mess and everything was just thrown out on the floor so that people can just scavenge for what they want hahaha. we all felt so dumb because we had to get 3 weeks of groceries (I'll send pics of the cart) and so we were just hauling a butt ton of stuff

I genuinely hope all is well back home... this darn virus is definitely slowing the work up here, but I hope it isn't as bad at home.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

press forward with high faith, for fear is not something that comes from God. continue to strengthen your testimony and lift the testimony of others and find ways to serve others amidst the chaos. there ain't no better alternative for fear than that of Christlike love and service.

love you all. stay safe and keep your toilet paper safer.

con amor,

la hermanita hess
