small plates:

-OKAY the best day that i've had since being back was my exchange back up in Kirkland which was my second area. while i was serving there, we were teaching the sweetest little family that had just moved here from Quito and they just soaked up everything we taught them and loved every bit of it. they were baptized a few sundays ago, two days before i returned to the mission so this was the first time i had seen them since they had been baptized. after visiting and catching up for a little bit, i had to say goodbye again before heading back to kent and as soon as they closed the door i just broke down sobbing on the stairs... i was seriously just so overcome with pure joy. the mission hits so different when you see the literal change that you have made in the future generations of those you teach. while sitting in the home of this family, the spirit was tangibly present and i began to realize the effect this would have on their family for the eternities as they were preparing to enter the temple when it opens again. their entire family and family line will be blessed because we started teaching them about the gospel of Jesus Christ. this... this is why i came out here. i have never felt happiness like that ever before in my life.

-one of the perks of having a butt ton of reassigned missionaries (p.s. we are recieving 60 new ones this next transfer. 60. theres a 180 of us already in the mission lol) is that we now have people who speak portuguese! we were able to teach a portuguese lesson this week because one of our sisters was reassigned from sao paulo and it was awesooome

-found somebody new to teach!!! his name is gabriel and he's 19 and we are now bffs. he stopped going to church when he moved out of his parents' home but he was very interested in our message so i gave him a few pamphlets and we're hopefully gonna meet up with him soon :)))

large plates:

-chopped (literally chopped. 14 inches) hna goodman's hair the first night all three of us were together because what else to girls do when they get bored at night

-played volleyball with some hindi dudes from figi at the protestant church and had a BLAST. i was the only girl on my team so you already know we whooped butt. they all like us sooooo we aboutta fellowship these boys right up

-had the FUNNEST car wash on saturday and ended up washing like 50 cars in the few hours we were there which was awesome! and we found lots of people who might be potentiial investigators!!!

-did service for a lady we found at the car wash and literally ripped apart her entire yard for 4 hours and we are still not done but had such a blast anyways

-i made another elder eat a large nightcrawler and now i owe him a 30 ct nugget from chick-fil-a lol.

-watched a snake regurgitate a worm. hmu if you want a video

-hna hampton and i have been speaking only in russian accents to see when we can break our other companion hahahaha

something interesting i studied this week: yanno how in 1 nephi 16 it talks about how nephi breaks his bow and his brothers start a'murmering and so he has to figure out how to build a new bow to hunt for his family? well, in this scenario, i am nephi, my steel bow is the old way of missionary work, and my new bow i am constructing is missionary work after corona. we may have 0 clue how to go about building a new bow here in the mission, but with God's help, it is absolutely possible... He know exacto what we need and exactly how to help us. and who knows, He might just hand us a AK-47 instead so we can be way more productive with our hunting time. it's been really interesting to be a literal pioneer in this age of missionary work.

anyways. being a missionary is theeeeeee biggest blessing i love it so so much. happy to be back :)
