Somebody come get ‘er
hola a todos :)
this week lowkey sucked hahaha i'm gonna be blunt with y'all BUT it did get much better towards the end so i'm doing okay now. all is well here in Kent Washington
small plates:
-so in my first area, there's a member that everyone calls grandpa and he is literally the most angelic little man in the entire world... one of my companions was really really struggling this week and really needed a blessing so we called him up to see if he'd be willing and he met up with us and gave one of the most pure blessings i've ever heard. it honestly boosted us all a ton and it changed the game for my companion. priesthood power is real
-finally got out of the house this week after dragging one companion out the door and found a super duper cool lady named Prisma in my new favorite trailer park!!! she's freaking stoked about family history and immediately set up a return appointment so we could come back and help her set everything up so that's pretty dank. she's a sweet lady and there's definite potential sooooo score
large plates:
-learned how to throw a lacrosse ball and discovered i'm quite good at it so watch out Chito
-had another super successful carwash and found some more people to teach!!! (sadly no spanish speakers this time but we'll get em next time)
-hampton and I have decided to cook something every day and this week we mastered a ramen stir fry and a teriyaki rice bowl. wife us up
-hahahahahahahah hampton and I have now started up hitting the woah almost every 15 minutes or so because our companion thinks it's stupid which obviously makes it more fun. i love being a kid hahaah
-it was SUNNY ALL WEEK so we could see RAINIER ALL WEEK. i will attach some very low quality photos
-one set of sisters in the zone have been in contact with someone who just tested positive and we have all definitely been together all week sooooooo we might be forced back into quarantine this week :,(
pensamiento espiritual:
i honestly loved come follow me this week... these are some of my favorite chapters in alma so i was stoked to study them again in depth. one thing i LOVE to teach and discuss is faith so naturally these are some of my go to's when i'm teaching or i'm on the doorstep.
Alma 32: 27-18
But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.
Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves—It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.
first, faith and action go hand in hand. the lord loves effort so we gotta plant that seed and act on our lil baby amount of faith. plants are pretty easy to grow, but they are also pretty fragile when it comes to surviving on their own. if we forget to water our potted plant for even one day, it already starts to wilt and shrivel. oh how important it is to be nourishing our faith EVERY DAY! the primary essentials of prayer, scripture reading, and attending church are sooooooo important!! once that seed takes root and begins to grow, it will swell within us and truly begin to be delicious. once we truly feast in the scriptures, we will begin to find things we have never read before. once we start to pray more sincerely, we will find ourselves feeling the presence our our Heavenly Father more in our lives. it's simple, but oh so beautiful and powerful.
anyways that's all i have to report for this week. i love you all so much and i genuinely am so so so so thankful for your love and support. to those of you praying for my family, i love you so much. if you could all keep my sweet momma in your prayers that would be lovely... she sure is my biggest hero and is such a trouper
LES QUIERO MUCHO MUCHO MUCHISIMO!!!!!!
con amor,
